She put her key in the door and opened it.  The house was dark.  She breathed deeply, and shifted the flowers she'd brought from one arm to the other.  He appeared in the arch leading to their living room. She ran her eyes over his familiar shape, and she saw something dangling from his hand. "Come," he said, and beckoned with one hand. As she passed him, he unexpectedly reached for her and in one swift movement, tied her hands together. He leaned in close and whispered in her ear, and the hairs on the back of her neck rose. "Happy anniversary," he said.
